Gate Valve Applications

A gate valve is a valve whose opening and closing element is a gate. The gate's movement is perpendicular to the fluid flow direction. Gate valves can only be fully open or fully closed; they cannot be used for regulation or throttling.

Gate Valve Classification

① By gate structure: Wedge gate and parallel gate.

Wedge gates have three structures: single gate, double gate, and resilient gate.

② By structural type: Flat gate valve and knife gate valve.

Gate Valve Characteristics

① Low flow resistance.

② Relatively easy to open and close.

③ Less prone to water hammer.

④ The medium can flow in either direction, making installation easy.
